Want your epoxy to look like glass? Then this one’s for you- we will show you both types of epoxy. You will learn how to mix 2 part epoxy and we will use the mixable in a tube epoxy. We will use epoxy that will set within 5 minutes and cure within 24 hours. We will show you how to layer your images, place crystals or other elements to add dimension to your creation. All materials will be provided for you to complete your pendant. You will leave with a Tupperware container with your pendant inside for traveling purposes. We don’t want lint in your piece, so if you’re traveling, this will ensure that it travels well! The day of your class, you will receive a 20% discount on any pendant/ring/bracelet blank that is purchased.

We like to keep our classes on the small side so that each of you get the time you deserve during your class. If you have a larger group and would like to make a special reservation, we will schedule your class when we are not open so you can enjoy our store exclusively.

I have tried to flip the last 3 photos! You are going to have to lay down while viewing them! They are saved correctly...but alas, they are sideways! Who has a 50 yard roll of tulle, pearl topped pins, rose petals and two windows that receive direct sunlight every day? WE DO!~ I love to merchandise our windows, but everything fades, so I have to put merchandise in them that we don't mind writing off. So, off to Michael's I go in search of something cute to catch your eye! We went with June Brides...tulle and flowers aplenty. They look dreamy and fresh.

Back to Basics!

We are going back to the basics, we are bringing back INCREDIBLE lampwork beads, sterling silver you can't find just anywhere and a new line of vintage beads and Saint Charms.

Here is an example of a new charm on the way. I was shopping in an antique store in Boerne, Texas and found several Saint charms and an OLD token from the San Antonio Transit Authority. It is darling. Can't wait to make something fun with it.

We have changed our website to a blog for the time being. We have taken on a second location in San Antonio and want to keep our inventory fresh and up to date. In the past 12 months we have turned merchandise quite quickly. We have changed our store dramatically. Our lines have changed and we think for the better.

Garden of Beaden and Initially Yours & Company are helping two local schools with a fundraiser. For each pendant that is ordered on our website, we will donate $10 of each sale to either Comfort High School Band Booster or Fredericksburg Middle School 8th Grade Class!

Simply send us your picture via email that you would like us to insert into the pendant shape of your choice, we can add crystals and charms if you would like and you have a gift! If you would like to include Dad in on the fundraiser, we have added a key chain just for Dad!

Almost 6 years ago to the day, Garden of Beaden had our baby boy Big Daddy Jr. show up! He was born at the Christian Coffee Shop and Andy was his Dad until he "delivered" him to us.

Big Daddy has gone to live with all the other roosters in Heaven. Last year when he molted (lost all his summer feathers to grow winter ones), he kept molting. When we took him to the Vet, we were told his protein levels were low. The doctor put him on hen laying food. Concerned he would get "man boobies", he started to perk up.

This summer, Big Daddy was having a bit of trouble walking. Sissy and Mom took him back to the doctor, he gave him a steroid to help with the pain. It helped for a few weeks. Today when I arrived at the shop, I carried Big Daddy in the shop. He didn't eat much and refused to drink. He was not doing well, his head was down and he looked tired. Having to make the decision to keep Big Daddy and be selfish while trying to give him the best life possible just didn't seem fair. Big Daddy went to live with God today. After so much rain and about an hour after we took him to the Vet, the sun came out like it hadn't in days. We feel like Big Daddy made it to Heaven to be with God just fine! We will miss him. He made driving up to our store so much fun EVERY single day! He would run across the back yard and hop up on the fence to wait for us to get out of the car. What a treat everyday!

Not only did she put together a super fun website, but she put what was in my mind on the computer screen for you to see. What is more terrific is the fact that she comes to my rescue when I need her...even on weekends and holidays!!! Dedication should be her middle name.

Initially Yours & Company and Garden of Beaden are SO excited to bring you a Spring like no other! We have been chosen by Lindsay Phillips as a Destination Store! We will receive merchandise from SwitchFlops before other retail stores, as well as we will be carrying a FULL line of merchandise.

The Spring merchandise is AMAZING. Scarves, purses and totes, new shoes, new ballet flats and the new Jordi.

In addition, STAXX has added a collection of new pieces to their line. I have spent the entire day cleaning up STAXX so that you can get an idea of the new pieces we are about to receive. Beads & Sterling Silver Needed: Tools & Supplies Required to complete your piece of jewelry.

While some of you are in the area of our store, we realize that most of you viewing our website aren't! So, what are we going to do about that? In 2010 we are going to do a few new things, we will have instructions as well as kits for sale for our classes, and free classes that we will post on the blog for you to view. We will also have the products used listed on the blog and for purchase on our website; Initially Yours & Company.

Please note, I spend a lot of time doing step-by-step instructions that are sent to you on a CD for easy viewing, stopping and starting, working along just as I was while taking pictures of the class. All of the supplies for our classes are in sterling silver UNLESS otherwise stated.

So, the blogs will have pictures, then next to them, easy to follow directions. You can print them and save them. :)

If there are any classes that you would like to see appear on the blog, send me an email and I will try to make it happen. Most asked for, earrings! How to wire wrap them....if that is something you would like to see, let me know.

New Classes!!

Soldered Pendant

The girls at the Garden of Beaden/Initially Yours & Company (one in the same) have been busy as little bees coming up with classes that are new and exciting. We will be bringing back some of the oldies, because to some of you, they are new!

I will post a few pictures at one that I am trying to perfect and I think that there is NO perfection that makes these pendants the best! I think the handmade quality is part of their "charm"! I do think this technique has been around and popular for a few years, but I am sometimes not a trend "follower", sometimes I like to step back, watch for the popular trends to come and go and create a classic twist on things. I have yet to put my charm together with something. I spent all day long getting it just right. (I will have it down pat when it comes to teaching a class.)

I have spent more time on a few areas, creating classes that upheld quality, the ability to be economical, as well as a piece that you would ACTUALLY wear. Sometimes with economical, I see people arrive in our store with a piece that they aren't wearing, wouldn't wear, but they paid for the class...so here they are with an piece of jewelry that is sitting typically still in a zip-lock bag!

So, when you see that we've posted our classes, you will know that we have actually made them, tested them, priced them and have had feedback from customers about them. Pictures will be posted as well.

New Favorite Gift!

This past week was an eventful one. We had snow in Fredericksburg, Texas! Woo-wee..it was a cold one.

Garden of Beaden, our store front had the most wonderful gift delivered, CHOCOLATE! A customer who come every year started a venture with her mom, Chocolate Truffle Shuffle, LLC. Emily delivered a box of chocolate truffles after we closed for the day, opening the box when I arrived home was 8 beautiful truffles. Wonderful packaging, absolutely the BEST truffles I've ever had. Fresh and delicious, I took a bite of all 4 flavors. Not sure at this point which one is my favorite. Perhaps the German Chocolate one. YUM! Take a peek at their website, Christmas is almost here and it would make a wonderful gift for the hard to buy for person. Delivery is available and this time of year is the perfect shipping time for chocolate.

We're Back on Track!

So the bead babes have changed things again! We have spent the last few months making tons of changes to not only our website but our store. We have decided not to carry clothing, after listening to our customers, it seems that they want beads, beads, and more beads! We have the most handsome bead guy who is completely in charge of adding products/classes/designs to our website. You asked for it, and now we are putting the tools into place to make it happen. He has spent hours in our store taking pictures, editing them and adding them to the website.

We are also in the process of evaluating our wholesale program. We have set up a wholesale page that allows you to register your company, your wholesale number, and once you send us a copy of your resale certificate (either by email or snail mail), you will be assigned a password to shop away. We are currently offering a 30% discount to shop with us online, but we are looking at a higher percentage.

Our classes are online now, we have about 5-7 more that we are going to add, so keep your eyes peeled for those. With Christmas around the corner, we are looking at ways for you to make your Christmas presents, not artsy craftsy ones, GREAT ones that your family will be fighting over! Classes are for all skill levels....and they are the classes you've been begging for!!!

I don't even know where to start! We have been buying up a storm! SwitchFlops, New Czech Beads, Copper, Sterling Silver, Thai Silver, Beads and that was just the last two weeks. Oh, I almost forgot, new STAXX pieces are arriving any day. Murano Glass for your STAXX ring. They are beautiful.

New Czech Beads!

We have just put out about 1200 new strands of beads! We had our friends come in their nifty van that they have turned into a MBU- Mobile Bead Unit! We spent about 4-5 hours buying beads. Each strand I looked at sparked a new design. And I promise I put them all out. I am not stashing any of them in our backroom like I normally do. I will take pictures tomorrow and post them. Just know, new beads. Czech beads, all colors, shapes, sizes and finishes! This picture is a SMALLLLLLL sample of what we purchased. We had a huge mountain of beads. Took me a day to put them out.
